I have several boxes of old 16rpm Seeburg records. I am curious what they are worth, and how rare they are. They are in excellent shape, and most people didn't realize how popular the Seeburg company is. They have been very popular in the Jukebox industry, among Wurlitzer, and others. I've done some research. The records were given for a 3 month period, and then returned to the company to be destroyed. I guess that could explain why there aren't many of these records around. I would appreciate any information I can get, and would love to learn more about the Seeburg history. Thanks, William

Cheaper at RadioShack. Remove the screw holding the cartridge and get the number from it. The number may be Magnavox, Electro-Voice and possibly Astatic. Go from there and run with it. Some of the styli are interchangeable.

I have a Farnsworth-Capehart radio/record player console which has a P72 Gravity Record Changer in it. Mine has the chrome tonearm with the lucite cartridge head with a GE VR cartridge installed. On the centerpost that holds the records up, i suspect at one time there was some kind of o-ring on it so only one record would drop at a time. Obviously mine is missing and was wondering what do you replace it with and where would i locate a replacement? For those of you that might not be familiar with this changer, the record drop is totally controlled by the centerpost as it doesnt use a nodder, pusher or rotating knives or anything that contacts the outer edge of the record in helping the record to drop. It also doesnt use a stabilizer arm to hold the records in place either. Record-changers turntable website has a picture of one of these in the post war section thats identical to mine except for the tonearm is the bigger gold metal one instead of chrome and lucite like mine. Any information about this would gladly be appreciated.

I was wondering if anyone might have a centerpost record spindle for my Magnavox Micromatic record changer. Mine is the type (600 series?) from the mid to later 60's that had the gold or silver thin tonearm. Its not the black tonearm type of the earlier models and dont think their interchangeable. The tip is mangled on mine so it wont drop records. It appears the previous owner messed it up forcing the 45 adapter on in the wrong position then twisting it as the adapters inner guts were trashed too. I have a new adapter, i now just need the centerpost spindle. Anyone who might have one of these for sale please contact me so i can start enjoying my maggie.

Would this be original? The collaro looks vintage to the unit, and I know you posted that magnavox did not use the collaro until '54. Someone over at magnavox friends said definitly not! I need your opinion. Are these good turntables, seems to play 33s good but needs general servicing. rjh0566
Collaro continued to make the 53 "Sentinel" series into the mid 1950s, as well as the new 54 "Continental" series. I have seen a 53 in a Magnavox. The 53 "Sentinal" series was discarded when Collaro changed to 4 speeds, to be replaced by the 350 "Conquest" series.
There were two different Collaro 53 "Sentinal" record changers:
- 3RC531 (later the 53-1) had a 3-position size switch next to the reject control.
- 3RC532 (later the 53-2) had a 12" record drop feeler and a 2-position size switch (7", and 10"-12"). It could take intermixed 10" and 12" records, or 7" records played separately.
Other Collaro series:
Continental - 3-size drop feeler. Constellation - 3-size drop feeler with plug in head and 12" turntable. Conquest - Polysize arm tip feeler. Coronation - Polysize arm tip feeler with plug in head. Studio - Polysize arm tip feeler with plug in head, same overarm as Magnavox 800. Professional - 1975 series with 3-size arm tip feeler, cue control.
One thing we have to remember is that the time the company produces a changer ends earlier than the time that changer is used in products. Manufacturers usually buy up an inventory of a product to be used by production for some time.
I was wrong about Magnavox not using V-M until the mid 1970s. For a brief period, Magnavox used V-M changers in portables. There was a longshoreman's strike in the early 1960s that kept Collaro record changers from entering the US for a couple of months. Magnavox bought some V-M changers to keep from having to shut down production. They used the Collaro changers they had left in consoles.

This is the Edison Diamond Disc Model B-19 also known as the "Chalet", it is a table model machine, unlike the previous table model Diamond Disc models (B-60 & 80 ect.) this one has the "direct drive" turntable. The B-19 plays the thick Edison Disc recordings, and the B-19 was introduced in 1919, with not many models manufactured or sold, they were constructed of stained gumwood, and came in the mahogany or maple finishes, this model is in maple. The B-19 is a nice machine to play Edison Diamond Discs when space is a factor. I love my B-19, the reproducer has been completely rebuilt with new gaskets and diamond stylus. I think the volume and tone of Edisons are great, especially fox trots and jazz of the mid to late twenties!phonocrazed Junior Member Posts: 2 Joined: Sat Nov 15, 2008 3:54 am Private message

WOW!!!! Very nice machine! Looks very well preserved too. I read the post about somebody wanting to buy it, its understandable alot of collectors would be interested in buying it, but its also understandable that it is also a family heirloom and means alot. I would love to find one of them myself, they are very pricey over $1,000.00 and don't come on the market alot. Also, I own a few of my grandparents and great grandparents machines. I get people wanting me to sell them but they have been in my family so long, I choose not to. I have my paternal great-great grandparents Columbia B Eagle, paternal great grandparents Magnola Talking Machine, Maternal Grandparents Edison Home and Amberola cylinder machines. I will try and post pics of them soon.

I am looking for an FM tuner section (small FM assembly that is attached to the radio assembly) for a Magnavox console stereo AM/FM/Phono. The model is 3ST657A but this was used in many Magnavox consoles. I can give the chassis number if needed. I can be contacted directly using my username at aol.com. Thanks!

Warning Mam, Do you know what an "expert" is ?? An "ex" is a "former" (think of "boyfriend"), and a "spert" is just a little "drip"--Good luck ! Ron Rich
